PS3『KILLZONE2』で見るオブジェクト破壊

海外ではマルチプレイモードのパブリックβも開始した『KILLZONE2』。PSUGのメンバー、または欧州アカウントメールアドレスにはβコード入手のためのメールが"運がいいと"来るわけですが、自分は漏れ漏れでYouTube等でプレイ動画を見ながらやり切れない日々を過ごしております(´・ω・｀)

さて、そのβソフトをプレイしてのオブジェクト破壊の様子を収めたフッテージがUPされています。そう･･･対戦もいいけどこういう事がしたいんだ、ウォークスルーが！

もはやこの手のゲームでオブジェクトが破壊できる事は珍しい事ではありません。
しかしこのような破壊処理は他では見られないでしょう。きめ細かなテクスチャが貼られた壁が手榴弾の爆風によって違和感なくボロボロと崩れ落ち地面に転がる様、銃撃による粉塵、大小ある破片の自然な散らばり方、地面を撃てば破片が飛び、弾痕は赤く熱を起こします。

この映像のとおりマルチプレイモードもこれらの物理演算が省略されることはありません。もちろんなんでもかんでも破壊できるわけではありませんが、これらの要素によってKILLZONE2の戦場ではより一層のリアリティを体感することになるでしょう。
グラフィック、光源処理、モーション、AI、そして破壊エンジン。到達不可能と言われていたティザートレイラーの域にまで既に十分到達しているとも思えますが、これら全ての要素は今も向上が図られ成果を得ているとのこと。
