このタイトルに関しては、前作の面白さ、これまでの関連ニュース、ベータテスト、海外レビューから既にとてつもない完成度と面白さであることは明らか。焦らずとも一ヶ月も経たずに発売を迎える本タイトルですが、やはりそこに試遊台があれば遊ばないわけにはいかないタイトルということで、一足早くTGSでプレイしてきました。

SCEJブースに試遊台が4台。ブース正面の人通りの多いポジションにコーナーを構え、待ち時間は24･25日で大体30分～45分ぐらい。プレイできる時間は15分で、大きなディスプレイとヘッドホンが用意されており、座って快適にプレイすることができました。

TGS体験版はタイトルからPVを見る項目が用意されていましたが、おそらく既出のものと思われたのと時間が限られているのでプレイを優先。スタートするとあの"お馴染み"の日本語吹き替えがすぐに聴こえてきます。ナイスなおっさん主人公ネイト・ドレイクが登場し早々にあの独特ぼやき愚痴っぷりを見せてくれる。相変わらず東地さんの演技が冴えている良いキャラクターです。ここでもう前作からのファンは一気にアンチャーテッドの世界が頭に蘇ってくるはず。まさに心の中で「キター」状態。

市街地で車を運転している彼は何かの"やっかいごと"に巻き込まれているようで今作からの新キャラクターである女冒険家クロエ・フレイザーと合流しようと無線で連絡し合っていると････そこに追っての車両が突っ込んでくる。軽くカーチェイスを繰り広げるとあっさりとネイトが乗った車は横転してしまい大破してしまい、ここからいよいよアクションパートがスタート。

ネイトの車は大破しても追ってくる車は止まらない。そこでプレイヤーはネイトを操作し、画面手前に走って逃げながら「R1」を押しで銃を乱射しながら逃げる事になる。細道に入り、車は壁にぶつかりながらも確実に迫ってくる中必死に逃げる。このシーンは動画で見た事があったが、実際に目の前にすると臨場感がより一層増して見え圧倒される。とにかく少しでも早く走って逃げなきゃ！そう思わせるほど追ってくる車の威圧感が凄い。

と、そんな感じで始まる体験版、今回プレイできるチャプターは「-5- 市場」と序盤のもので、このステージは以前から行われているベータテストでも見られた比較的事前情報でもよく見ている市街地ステージです。ただCo-opプレイデモのステージとは若干構造が違ったりします。そしてそれ以上にグラフィックのクオリティが段違い。もうこの辺は実際に見てもらうのが一番なんですが、とにかく凄いです。画面内の全てが繊細に描きこまれており、やたらと転がっている瓦礫や大破した車など、細かなオブジェクトも一切手を抜かずに描かれています。水溜まりはこれ以上のない水表現でしょう。今回もしっかり服が濡れますがその質感はもう言うことなし。キャラクターの描き込みも明らかに前作よりパワーアップしていて、よりネイトの渋さが出ています。モーションも増えて、敵との格闘戦はカメラワークで映えてよりダイナミックに。

そして今作の新たな魅力でもある"ステルスアクション"。
隠れながら敵に近づき、他の敵に見つからないよう華麗に必殺アクションを決めるこの要素は今回の体験版でも実際に実行することができました。元々アンチャーテッドは真後ろから忍び寄っての必殺アクション、物陰に身を隠し辺りを見渡したり、物陰から物陰に移るなどのアクションのデキは良かったのですが、そこからさらに発展して様々なシチュエーションで取れるアクションが追加されたことでより遊び方の幅が広がり楽しくプレイできるでしょう。撃ち合いも良いのですが、こういったアクションによる攻撃の気持ちよさがこのタイトルのひとつの大きな魅力だと個人的に思っているので、早くもっと色んなパターンを試してみたいと思わせてくれます。

気になった点は大きなところではまったくないんですが、海外のレビューでも言われていた"次に何をすればいいのか"を示すものが足りないという点が確かにありました。フィールド上に色々仕掛けが用意されていても、基本的にそれに気付くためには自分でアクションを起こして見つけなければいけないので場合によっては手間取ってしまうことがあるかもしれません。ただ、これは"探索して欲しい"という意図にも取れますし、こういうのが苦手なプレイヤーであっても苦痛となるレベルではないと思います。

とにかくプレイが楽しい。動かすのが面白い、キャラクターが魅力的。
前作も凄かったグラフィックも今作ではさらに美麗さ極まるというレベルになり、その点はもちろん素晴らしいのですが、ゲームの本質であるアクションの出来の良さ、妥協のない作り込みや魅せ方のセンスこそが、このタイトルの魅力そのものなんだということが再確認できるプレイ体験でした。

PlayStationブランド最高のシリーズとして確立されつつある「アンチャーテッド」。
いよいよ、財宝をめぐる"マジかよ･･･・！？"な冒険が再び幕を開けます。
