スクエニの社長いわくドラクエは「ポケモンより面白いかもしれません……おっと、今のはナシで(笑)」とのこと。

その歴史も内容も世界観も異なる自社で誇るべきタイトルであるドラクエをポケモンと比べる（しかも「より面白いかも」というジョークなのか願望なのかよく分からない）というまたなんとも残念な某社長も出席した「ドラゴンクエスト プレス発表会」にてようやく「ドラゴンクエストIX」の発売日が発表されました。

明らかに年度末決算ギリギリまで引っ張ったその発売日は3月28日（土）。
DSソフトながら強気にふっかけてくると思われた価格は5,980円(税込)と思ったより普通。･･･まぁ普通と言ってもDSソフトの価格としては高いですが、以前発言があった1000万本という売り上げ本数を本気で狙うにはこの辺りが良いと判断したんでしょうか。

それとこの発表ではさりげなく「ドラゴンクエストX」がWiiで発売されることも発表されたようです。PS3やXbox360で出すとは思ってなかったのでいいんですが、「IX」が出る前に大した余裕ですね・・・。発売されるのは3,4年後でしょうか、その時期になるとドラクエが楽しみというよりは、今後の任天堂のハードの方向性の方が気になるところですね。

とにかく、「ドラクエIX」がようやく混迷のゲーム業界に放たれることになるわけですが、今回の制作コンセプトは"作品を知っているけれど遊んでこなかった人"、"ゲームから遠ざかっていた人に触れてもらうこと。そして"まだ作品を知らない若い世代、子供達に遊んで貰うこと"だそうです。そう考えると確かにDSは妥当なのかもしれません。自分が思うのは某社長の大好きなワールドワイド展開の一環としてドラクエを海外のユーザーにも受けるようにおかしな改変でもしない限り、やはり国民的タイトルとしてゲーム業界に活気を生んでくれるという意味では良いタイトルになるんじゃないでしょうか。そういうタイトルは今のゲーム業界には絶対的に必要だと思います。

･･･まぁ内容的にというと、個人的には正統進化にして傑作となった「ドラクエVIII」の後では評価のハードルは相当高いと思ってるんですけどね(´・ω・｀)
